PINEHURST, NC--Old Dominion University sophomore Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) shot 70 today to finish 54-holes at 213, tied for second just two strokes out of first at the Pinehurst Challenge. As a team, the Lady Monarchs placed third behind national powers North Carolina State and Maryland in the 17 team field.
Haycock shot 70-73-70=213 to tie yesterday's leader Vivian Tsui of NC State. Brittany Marchand of NC State won the individual medalistHonor with a 211 after shooting 73-70-68=211. Fellow Lady Monarch sophomore Kimberley Bradbury (Derbyshire, England) shot 69 on today's final round to finish fourth at 215.
NC State finished at 865, Maryland 882 and ODU just one stroke back at 883 with East Carolina at 887 in fourth place. Gemma Fuster (Barcelona, Spain) finished 34th at 227 and Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) was 39th at 228.
