NORFOLK, Va. - Due to inclement weather expected on Saturday, Old Dominion University baseball's weekend series with Marist has been changed to a doubleheader on Friday, no game on Saturday and is on regular schedule for Sunday.
The Monarchs will take on Marist in game one Friday at 2 p.m. with the second game of the doubleheader to start approximately 30 minutes after game one is over.
Sunday is set for 1 p.m. first pitch.
Marist (1-2) is led by junior infielder Mike Orefice who is hitting .385 with fourRBI. Freshman catcher Mark Brennan is hitting .500 with a homer and four RBI, followed by Pat Welsh at .333. Senior lefthander Chad Gallagher is scheduled topitch on Friday.
Monarch catcher Josh Tutwiler is hitting .350 through eight games. while seniorsJoey Burney andBrent Frazier lead the Monarchs in RBI with five each.
The Monarchs are scheduled to throw Brett Harris (0-0. 0.00 ERA), Ben Tomchick (0-1,4.66 ERA)and Phil McCarthy (0-0, 4.50 ERA) this weekend.
