NORFOLK, Va. -- Take a look at photos from Saturday's men's basketball contest against William & Mary where the ODU Football Monarchs were honored in front of a sellout crowd of 8,460.

Led by the Monarch Marching Band with Big Blue, senior defensive lineman Edmon McClam (Cowart, S.C.) and junior captain Craig Wilkins (Washington, D.C.) proudly displaying the "Silver Mace" won by ODU by defeating William and Mary in this year's Optima Health Challenge showdown, the ODU football team was honored for its accomplishments in the 2011 season.

This past fall, the Monarchs recorded a 10-3 overall record, finished in second-place with a 6-2 mark in the CAA after being picked to finish 10th in the preseason polls, advanced to the second round FCS playoffs, and finished the season ranked No. 10 in the country - all in just the third year of the program's existence.

Since restarting its football team in 2009, Old Dominion has become the winningest start-up program in FCS history with a three-year total of 27 wins and only eight losses, and has had 21 consecutive sellouts since opening day in 2009.

11 Monarchs earned All-CAA honors with defensive tackle Ronnie Cameron (Westbury, N.Y.) named CAA Defensive Player of the Year, while freshman quarterback Taylor Heinicke (Atlanta, Ga.) was named the national performer and quarterback of the year by the College Performance Awards. Additionally, Cameron and junior punter Jonathan Plisco (Newport News, Va.) picked up numerous All-America honors.
