Lady Monarchs Land ACC Transfer Gardner

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's basketball has announced the addition of 5-7 guard Stephanie Gardner. A transfer from nationally ranked Miami (Fla.), Gardner will be eligible in January of 2013. Gardner has started classes and can practice with the Lady Monarchs.

Gardner played the 2010-11 season as a freshman for the Hurricanes appearing in 25 games, playing 218 minutes. She helped Miami to its first ACC Regular Season Championship since joining the league in 2004.

A native of Glassboro, N.J., Gardner was a star player at Glassboro High School where she averaged 22.6 points per game her senior campaign. She was a two-time team captain and earned team MVP honors as a senior as well as having earned All Tri-County First Team honors.
