Weidner, Cook Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's soccer senior Jocelyn Weidner and sophomore Amber Cook were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, CoSIDA announced on Friday.

Weidner earned First-Team honors while Cook was named to the Second-Team.

Weidner, a four-year starter at midfield for ODU, started every game for ODU the last three seasons. She finished her senior campaign with three goals and two assists for eight points. She finished her career with eight goals and eight assists. In the classroom, Weidner has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and is majoring in nursing.

Cook is a two-year starter on defense for the Lady Monarchs. The Clear Brook, Va. native started in 18-of-19 contests this season, scoring three goals. The sophomore now has seven goals in her career. Cook has a cumulative GPA of 3.83 and is majoring in mechanical engineering.

With her first-team selection, Weidner now moves on and is eligible to become a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Three other CAA schools had student-athletes on the Academic All-District list. William and Mary's Mallory Schaffer, Georgia State's Bri Cagle, Sarah Bennett and Jewel Evans and Towson's Jocelyn Papciak earned First-Team recognition.
