NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Monarchs won their second exhibition game with a 69-43 victoryover the Vikings of Elizabeth City State. Red-shirt freshman guard Dimitri Batten led with 12 points and three steals while senior center-forward Chris Cooper scored six and hauled down a game high 13 boards. All but one Monarch scored tonight.

Pre-season CAA Player of the Year Kent Bazemore returned from his foot injury toplay six minutes and score seven points on three-for-five shooting from the floor along with a steal and an assist.

Freshman forward Jason Pimentell, senior Trian Iliadis and junior Nick Wright added eight points each, while freshman guard Breon Key scored nine points with two assists and two steals.

ODU shot .479 from the field and outrebounded the Vikings, 45-32. Besides Cooper's game high 13 rebounds, Pimentel hauled down eight. ECSU shot .269 (14-52) from thefloor.

ODU led, 34-20 at halftime and by as much as 31 (60-29) with 7:15 left in the game.

ECSU was led in scoring by Glenn Patterson with 13 points, while Rondy Tucker hadfive rebounds.

The Monarchs open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 12 at home against Northern Iowa of the Missouri Valley Conference.
