ST. THOMAS, VIRGIN ISLANDS - Tia Lewis and Shakeva Richards combined for 42 points and Myeisha Hall added 14 off the bench but it wasn't enough as Old Dominion University women's basketballs comeback attempt fell short as ODU dropped an 84-71 contest to Louisiana Tech Friday evening in the Paradise Jam Tournament
ODU trailed by as much as 15 in the second half but the Lady Monarchs went on a quick 7-2 spurt led by Myeisha Hall who hit a three-pointer and a layup, as well as Tiffany Minor and cut the gap to 66-61.
The Lady Monarchs cut the gap to five at 68-63 on a pair of Shakeva Richards free throws but LT scored nine-straight, including six foul shots to stretch their lead into double digits.
Early in the second half, LT went on a 7-0 run to increase its lead to 46-31. Kiara Young and Angie Felton hit three-pointers to spur the run. Tia Lewis scored ODU's first seven points of the second half and hit a pair of free throws to stop the run.
Myeisha Hall got ODU under double-digits with 10 minutes left to go in the half when she hit two three-pointers and a layup, in a two minute span to cut the lead to 53-46.

The first half was tight throughout, as ODU grabbed their biggest lead of the half at 18-13 on a jumper by Shakeva Richards. Louisiant Tech came right back to close the gap to one on a jumper from Brittany Hardy. Tech retook the lead on a three-pointer from Angie Felton at 22-20.
The Lady Techsters grabbed the biggest lead of the first half at 33-24, ending the half on a 9-2 run. Jelena Vucinic hit a three to push the lead to seven and Jasmine Bender scored on a layup with 21 seconds left for the halftime score of 33-24.
Lewis recorded her first double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds while Richards had a career-high 18 points. Hall also recorded a career-best with her 14 points on 5-of-8 from the floor.
Shantale Bramble-Donaldson led four Lady Techsters in double-figures with 18 points and nine rebounds while Jasmine Randolph had 17, Kiara Young had 16 and Brittany Hardy chipped in 14.
ODU rounds out the Paradise Jam Tournament tomorrow when they take on Seton Hall at 3:15 EST.
