RICHMOND, VA-- ODU senior forward Chris Cooper (Dumfries, VA.) has been named CAA Player of the Week. Kent Bazemore was named to the HOF Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament squad and freshman Dimitri Batten was selected Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
Cooper averaged 12.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in Old Dominion's 3-1 week. The senior forward recorded double-doubles in three of the four games, tallying a career-high 17 points and 12 boards vs. #2 Kentucky, 13 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Howard and 10 points and 11 caroms in a victory over Long Island. The senior forward also blocked seven shots and made six steals last week.
The Monarchs finished second in the Hall of Fame Basketball Tip-Off Classic,Losing to second ranked Kentucky in the finals, 62-52. College Sports Madness named Dimitri Batten CAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week.Battenscored 16 points against LIU and 12 against South Florida. During that week,
Kent Bazemore was named to the Hall of Fame All-Tournament team. Bazemore scored 23points, nine rebounds with seven steals in the win over South Florida. He also scored 10 points against second ranked Kentucky.
