ABOUT LIUThe Blackbirds return three starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's 27-6 team that won the Northeast Conference crown and advanced to the NCAA tournament. They are led by Julian Boyd, A first team All-Northeaster Conference selection who ranked second in the league in rebounding at 9.0 per game and had 12 double-doubles. Also returning is the NEC's Tournament MVP, Jamal Olasewere who averaged 21.7 points and 11.7 rebounds in the NEC tournament.
LIU Head Coach Jim Fetty is in his 10th season with a 229-160 record.
