Three Men's Swimmers Named All-Conference

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion senior swimmer Arni Arnason (Mosfellsbaer, Iceland) holds the nation's top time in the 200 breaststroke and the fifth fastest time in the 100 breaststroke according to the lastest times released this week by CollegeSwimming.com.

Arnson, a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Men's Swimmer of the Year, has alread earned CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week twice this season.

A member of the 2008 Icelandic Olympic team that competed in Beinjing, China, Arnason was the only competitor in last weekend's CAA Pod meet featuring William & Mary and George Mason under the two-minute mark in the 100 breaststroke.  Arnason hit the wall with a time of 1:58.38 for the nation's fastest time in the event thus far.

In the 100 breaststroke, Arnason was one of three pod meet swimmers to race in the in under a minute with his top time of 54.73 for the nation's fifth fastest time thus far.  

Arnason holds both the Old Dominion records in the events capturing a 100 breast time of 53.48 and logging a time of 1:56.54 his freshman season in the 2008-2009 season.

The Old Dominion swimming and diving teams return to the pool November 17th and 18th at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
