NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion defensive tackle Ronnie Cameron (Westbury, N.Y.) was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) National Defensive Lineman of the Week it was announced on Monday.
Cameron posted 10 tackles, including three of those for a loss of 12 yards in ODU's first ever Top 10 victory in Saturday's 23-20 win over James Madison. His 10 tackles were just one shy of his season-high. Cameron and the Monarch defense held James Madison scoreless in the second half of play and held the CAA's leading rushing offense at 242.7 yards per game and 5.0 yards per play to 103 yards and 2.7 yards per carry.
Cameron upped his numbers to 57 tackles on the year and 15.0 tackles for loss. He is the CAA leader in tackles for loss and ranks 18th nationally in the category. Additionally, he is fourth among CAA defenders in sacks.
