NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Monarchs play NCAA Division II Barton College (Wilson, NC.) Tuesday night in an exhbition game at 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
The Bulldogs are members of the Carolinas Conference and are led by the backcourt duo of senior Jaren Haley and junior Gerald Boxton along with junior forward Jon Hart. Barton lost to Athletes In Action Sunday, 106-99 as Haley scored 23 and Boston added 20 points respectfully.
In the Blue-White scrimmage, five Monarchs led by senior Chris Cooper scored indouble figures.
Chris Cooper scored 17, Trian Iliadis 15, Marquel DeLancey and Donte Hill 11 each and Nick Wright scored 10.
Cooper hauled down a game high 17 rebounds with two blocked shots and two steals. Iliadis hit three treys along with two steals, while De Lancey was 4-for-eight from the field with three assists.
Junior forward Nick Wright hauled down nine rebounds, blocked a shot and was also four-for-eight from the floor.
The Monarchs host Elizabeth City State from the CIAA Friday night in the second and final exhibition game of the season before opening up the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 12 against Northern Iowa.
