RICHMOND, Va. - Cristin Granados scored twice for VCU as the Rams defeated Old Dominion University women's soccer 4-1 Friday night in Richmond.
VCU (6-7-4, 4-2-3) scored just over a minute into the game on a Molly Allen goal that just made it inside the left post to give VCU a 1-0 advantage.
The score remained 1-0 until the 65th minute when Granados scored off a cross from Allen for the 2-0 VCU lead.
In the 69th minute Maren Johansen corralled a shot that was saved by Laura Bush and knocked in a shot off an ODU defender to give the Rams a 3-0 lead.
Granados made it 4-0 on off a free kick in the 78th minute.
Old Dominion (6-9-2, 3-5-1) got on the board in the 87th minute when Rachael Carroll sent a through ball into the box to Victoria Johnson who fired a shot past the VCU keeper from 10 yards out.
VCU outshot the Lady Monarchs 13-10. Granados and Johnson had three shots apiece while Carroll and Johnson had three each for ODU while Jocelyn Weidner had two.
Brianna Alvarado and Bush each made a save for ODU while Kristin Carden made two saves for VCU.
ODU travels to James Madison on Sunday at 1 p.m. for its road finale.
