BOSTON, Mass. - Veronica Napoli scored two goals and assisted on another as Northeastern defeated Old Dominion University women's soccer 4-0 Friday night in Boston.
Northeastern (8-6-2, 4-2-1) got on the board in the 20th minute on a Napoli goal assisted by Laura Holmstedt.
Napoli got NU on the board again with five minutes left in the first half on an unassisted goal to give the Huskies a 2-0 halftime lead.
Greta Samuelsdottir gave NU a 3-0 advantage just 16 seconds into the second half off a pass from Kirby Anderson.
Lahaina Zoller got the final tally of the night for NU in the 53rd minute for the final 4-0 score.
ODU (6-7-2, 3-3-1) was outshot 11-3 in the first half and 21-12 for the match.
Kelly Evans led ODU with three shots while Samulesdottir led NU with six.
Brianna Alvarado made six stops for ODU with Laura Bush making four saves. Paige Burnett made five saves for Northeastern.
The game was delayed over an hour in the second half due to lightning.
Old Dominion is back in action on Sunday when they take on Hofstra at 1 p.m.
