Boston, Mass. - Old Dominion University women's soccer hits the road this weekend to begin a four-game road trip. The Lady Monarchs open the trip on Friday against Northeastern at 6 p.m. and take on Hofstra on Sunday at 1 p.m.
ODU is coming off a 1-0 win over Drexel on Sunday and is 6-6-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the CAA. The Lady Monarchs are currently tied for third with Northeastern and VCU.
Ashlee Coutu scored the game-winner in the win on Sunday and tied Lisa Bernardini for a team-best five goals. Bernardini leads ODU with 16 points with those five goals and six assists. Amber Cook is third on the team with three goals while Jocelyn Weidner and Kate Kelly each have two goals and two assists for six points.
Brianna Alvarado completed her third shutout of the year on Sunday, and has a 2.0- GAA and has made 53 saves.
Northeastern is 7-6-1 overall and 3-2-1 in CAA action. The Huskies are led by CAA Preseason Player of the Year Veronica Napoli, who has seven goals, four assists for a team-best 18 points. Greta Samuelsdottir is second on the team with five goals and 10 points.
Paige Burnett has started every game in goal, making 67 saves with a 1.46 goals against average.
Hofstra comes into the weekend 6-6 overall and 2-4 in league play. The defending league champs play host to William and Mary on Friday before playing ODU.
The Pride are led by Laura Greene who is tied for the CAA lead with 12 goals. Courtney Been is second on the team with 10 points.
ODU continues their road trip the following weekend when they head to VCU and James Madison.
