HAMPTON, VA. - Old Dominion sailing put together another productive weekend on the water with sophomore Evan Hoffmann qualifying for the MAISA Singlehanded Championships and the Monarchs claiming sixth in a competitive 18-team field at the St. Mary's Fall Intersectional.

At the MAISA Laser Qualifier, Hoffmann trailed only Samuel Blouin of Hobart & William Smith and Alex Post from Georgetown as the sophomore recorded a third-place result. Hoffmann led the entire 19-person field entering the last race after winning the first race and finishing no worse than fifth in the other two. A 12th-place showing though in the final race bumped Hoffmann down to third overall. Daniel Lochner also competed in the event for the Monarchs, finishing in 17th.

Gavin Rudolph and Jill Fattibene led ODU at the St. Mary's Fall Intersectional, claiming fifth overall in B-Division sailing. The duo had five Top 5 results in eight races. In A-Division, Dillon Paiva and Chloe Constants garnered 77 points and ended the regatta in 11th.

Corina Radtke, Rachel Austin and Andrea Luna also competed this past weekend in the Faye Bennet MAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship, but only two races were sailed due to the lack of wind.

Old Dominion is back in action October 1-2 at the Danmark Trophy, St. Mary's Open, MAISA Women's Dinghy and T.S. Stern regattas.
