RICHMOND, VA-- Freshman Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England)and sophomore Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) were selected to the Colonial Athletic Association's All-Conference squad as selected in a vote of the league's head coaches.
Haycock was named first team All-CAA as he compiled a 77.1 stroke average and finished second at the UNCW tournament. She also had five top 20 finishes. Her best round was a 71 in the first round of the Barefoot tournament while finishing 18th at the CAA Championships.
Samantha Morrell was named to the second team All-CAA. She had a 75.3 fall stroke average and a 76.1 overall average. Morrell tied for fourth at the C&F bank and sixth at the Tina Barrett tournament in the Spring. Last year, Morrell was theCAA Rookie of the Year.
In the fall, she tied for second at the Great Smokies, third at the Lady Pirate and seventh at the Sea Trail. She finished 11th at the CAA Championships.
Georgia State junior Charlotte Lorentzen was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive season in a vote of the league's head coaches. Also earning top honors from the conference were James Madison's freshman Ginger Mak as CAA Rookie ofThe Year.
Cindy Ho received CAA Women's Coach of the Year honors for the second time in her career. She guided the Seahawks, which included three freshmen and two veterans, in a third-round rally during the CAA Championship to capture the team's third crown in five seasons and sixth conference title in program history. The Seahawks posted seven top-15 finishes and finished among the top-17 in all 10 tournaments.
