NORFOLK, VA-- Alex Vaughan scored a goal in each have to lead the Soccer Monarchs to a 6-1 victory over Wingate and complete a very successful spring season at 4-0-1 against college opponents.
In their final test of the spring season, the Soccer Monarchs jumped on top in the first half with a goal from freshman Alex Vaughn assisted by Freshman All-American Gideon Asante. The first half ended with the Monarchs holding a 1-0.
The Monarchs really stepped it up in the second half as they came out very strong scoring two goals in the first five minutes.
The first was another goal from Alex Vaughn followed by ODU's Captain Tommy Webb scoring his first collegiate goal. The Monarchs continued its strong play adding goals by Chris Harmon, Tim Hopkinson and Placide Buduri for the 6-1 victory.
