Haycock In Sixth & Lady Monarchs Just Seven Strokes Back At CAA

PINEHURST, NC-- ODU freshman Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) shot 74 today to move within four strokes of the lead at the CAA Women's Golf Championships being held at the No. Six Course in Pinehurst. As a team, the Lady Monarchs are fifth, but just seven strokes back of the leader. ODU led by two strokes earlier in the day.

Xavier leads the event at 615, followed by JMU and Georgia State at 617, then UNCW at 618 and ODU at 622.

Caroline Sweet of WIlliam and Mary shot 75 today and is in the clubhouse at 148, followed by a three-way tied for second at 150 by Ginger Mak and Nicole Sakamotoof JMU, Charlotte Guilleux of Georgia State and Jillian Fraccola of Richmond.Haycock is in sixth at 152.

Two other Lady Monarchs are in the top 20, junior Kristen Hagan (Charlotte, NC.)is tied for 13th at 154 and sophomore Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) istied for 17th at 156.

The final round is Sunday.
