RICHMOND, Va. - Tobias Fanselow was named CAA Co-Men's Tennis Player of the Year and was joined on the CAA All-Conference team by Krzysztof Muzalewski and Albert Ochagavia, the league announced Thursday night.
Fanselow finished his senior season with an outstanding 21-4 singles record and was 20-5 in doubles action. He went 5-2 in conference singles play and was 6-1 in league doubles action. Fanselow shard the Player of the Year award with VCU's Tim Johannsen.
He played the entire season at No. 1 singles and had a 16-match winning streak from Jan. 16-March 18. During the streak, only three of his 16 matches went three sets.
It is Fanselow's fourth-straight season earning all-CAA honors in singles play and his second-straight in doubles.
Fanselow earned first-team honors in singles and also first team accolades in doubles with partner Krzysztof Muzalewski.
The duo went 19-5 on the year playing all season at No. 1. Fanselow and Muzalewski had a 10-match winning streak from Feb. 5-March 11 and ended the season winning their last six matches.
Muzalewski earned second-team all-conference honors, posting a 19-5 mark at No. 3 singles. His winning streak was almost as good as Fanselow's, winning 13-straight in the middle of the season and four of his last five.
Ochagavia was named to the third-team, as he finished the year with a 19-6 mark, playing all but one match at No. 4. Like Fanselow and Muzalewski, Ochagavia compiled a nice winning streak, notching eight-straight wins at one point during the year.
The Monarchs begin the first round of CAA Tournament play on Friday at 8:30 a.m. when they take on William and Mary.
