NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University tennis closes out their regular season this weekend. Both squads are in action tonight at William and Mary, the Lady Monarchs host UNC Wilmington Saturday at noon and both teams host Hofstra Sunday night at 6 p.m.
The Monarchs are 15-8 on the year and led by senior Tobias Fanselow who holds a 20-3 record at the No. 1 singles spot. Krzysztof Muzalewski is second on the team with a 19-4 mark while Albert Ochagavia is 18-5 on the season.
Fanselow and Muzalewski have been solid in doubles posting an 18-5 record while Ochagavia and Alfredo Rodriguez are 13-6 as a tandem.
The Lady Monarchs are 10-9 on the season and led by No. 1 singles player Joanna Dobrowolska who is 14-5 on the season. Diana Ivanova and Melissa Esnal Olguin are tied for second on the team with 10 victories.
Sunday's match will also be senior night as ODU will honor men's seniors Benjamin Chomette, Clay Cypert and Fanselow, while the women will honor Dobrowolska. Also being honored is head coach Darryl Cummings who is retiring at the end of the season. Cummings is leaving ODU's tennis program with a 561-348 record after 19 years as the head coach to pursue a new business interest in Hampton Roads.
