FARMVILLE, VA--ODU senior golfer Emma Gilmore (Moylough, Ireland) fired a 70 today to finish with an 36-hole score of 144 to finish second just four strokesbehind the leader as the Lady Monarch golfers placed second at the Tina Barrett Longwood Invitation.
Three Lady Monarchs finished in the top 10 of the tournament. Besides Gilmore, sophomore Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) placed sixth at 150, and Kimberley Bradbury(Derbyshire, England) tied for seventh at 153.
Longwood won the event with a team score of 588, while ODU was second at 601. ODU returns to action on April 3-5 at the UNCW SeahawkInvitational at the River landing Golf Course in Wallace, NC.
