FARMVILLE, VA-- The ODU Lady Monarchs are just seven strokes out of first after thefirst round of the Tina Barrett Longwood Invite. ODU has four golfers in the top 10after the first day of play.
ODU finished the day with a 298, just seven strokes behind tournament leader and host Longwood. Leading the way of the Lady Monarchs is freshman Kimberley Bradbury(Derbyshire, England) who is in third after shooting 73, while sophomore Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) and senior Emma Gilmore Moylough Ireland) fired 74. Freshman Elizabeth Haycock (Birmingham, England) shot 77 and is tied for ninth.
Amanda Steinhagen of Longwood shot 69 to lead all individuals. Because of the inclement weather and wet grounds only 18 holes were played today. The final 18will be played on Tuesday.
