HARRISONBURG, Va. - Old Dominion and James Madison will meet for the second time this season Sunday, this time in a first-place showdown in Harrisonburg. Both squads enter the pivotal Colonial Athletic Association game with identical 9-1 conference records and locked into a three-way tie, along with UNC Wilmington, atop the league standings.
The contest, set to tip at 2 p.m. from the JMU Convocation Center, can be heard on ESPN Radio 94.1 with Tony Mercurio on the play-by-play and Jen Nuzzo providing color analysis.
Old Dominion (15-6, 9-1 CAA) won the first game between the squads, 71-55 in Norfolk. Senior Kquanise Byrd hit for a then career-high 16 points to pace the Lady Monarchs.
Since that contest in early January, James Madison (16-6, 9-1 CAA) has rattled off seven consecutive wins. Senior guard Dawn Evans continues to lead the Dukes, averaging 24.0 points per game, which is good for second in the nation.
Old Dominion is coming off a thrilling 68-67 win at George Mason on Thursday. Jasmine Parker's 15-foot buzzer-beater gave the Lady Monarchs their fourth straight win overall and fifth consecutive road victory.
