NORFOLK, VA-- The Hawks of Saint Joseph's defeated the ODU Baseball Monarchs, 11-7Sunday afternoon. Both teams are 2-2 on the season.
ODU took an early 3-0 lead in the first as Shawn Sizemore doubled home Brent Frazier and Nathan Hartman doubled home Sizemore and Chris Baker.
SJU got on the board in the third on Kevin Taylor's two-run double to cut the lead to 3-2, then in the fourth inning Kevin Kratochwill doubled in two runs and the Hawks took a 5-3 lead. They added a run in the fifth and four in the sixth innings to exten the lead to 10-3.
ODU cut the lead to 10-7 in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run triple by Hartman and an RBI single by Chris Baker, but SJU added another run in the ninth as Kevin Kratochwill scored on a fielder's choice groundout for an 11-7 lead.
Shawn Sizemore led ODU with three hits, and he scored twice, while Hartman had two hits and knocked in four runs. Kenny Stoneback and Brent Frazier each had two hits on the day as well.
Chris Baker extended his hitting streak to 32 games with a single and he also walked twice.

Renner also knocked in two for Saint Joseph's.
ODU returns to action Tuesday afternoon in Richmond against the Spiders.
