NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's basketball team will look to get back on track after dropping a pair of contests against SEC rivals last week. The Lady Monarchs will host Atlantic 10 foe George Washington Wednesday at the Constant Center with the contest set to tip at 7 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM with play-by-play from Tony Mercurio and color analysis from Susan Montgomery.
Old Dominion (3-3) is coming of a tough 74-44 loss against No. 9/8 Tennessee on Sunday. Senior Jasmine Parker led the Lady Monarchs with a game-high 16 points to become the 28th Lady Monarch to score 1,000 career points. Junior Tia Lewis pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with six points on 3-of-4 shooting for ODU, which dropped its first contest of the season at the Constant Center.
The Colonials enter the game having won four of their last five games. The lone set back was a double-overtime 64-61 loss at Marshall. Danni Jackson paces the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game.
Old Dominion and George Washington have split four all-time meetings, with the Lady Monarchs holding a 2-1 advantage on their home court. The lone ODU loss in Norfolk proved to be a big one as the Colonials upended Old Dominion in Norfolk during the 2006 NCAA Tournament First Round.
