10:30 a.m. - Walmart Tailgate and Fanfest opens for activities including alumni tent, student tent,athletic promotions tent, live music, food and beverages for sale
11:50 a.m. - Monarch March - ODU football team walks through Kaufman Mallen route to stadium
12:30 p.m. - Monarch Maniacs, Suites, and Loge Ticket holders admitted to stadium1 p.m. - Stadium gates open
1:00 p.m. - ODU pre-game radio show begins from Walmart Tailgate and Fanfest
1:15 p.m. - Marching Monarchs, cheerleaders, and dance team perform at Walmart Tailgate and Fanfest then march into the stadium

AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME:
The Monarchs have three games left in the 2010 season and begin its final homestand by hosting Savannah State this Saturday and VMI next week.
ON THE ROAD:
ODU is now 6-1 on the road in their young history and 3-0 in 2010 thanks to its 28-14 win over Hampton last week. In their inaugural season, the Monarchs went 3-1 on the road with wins at Jacksonville (28-27), Savannah State (38- 17), and VMI (42-35). The lone setback away from the friendly confines of Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium was a 34-29 loss at Fordham. Only one other road game awaits the Monarchs in a return date with North Carolina Central for the 2010 season finale on November 20th.
BLOCK THAT KICK:
Special teams now has 11 blocks to its credit in the last two seasons. The Monarchs had two with Deron Mayo (Hampton, Va.) and Desmond Williams (Windsor, N.C.) both blocking punts in the 28-14 win over Hampton last Saturday that led the Monarch scores. Mayo also rushed the Pirate punter which led Hampton to punt the ball into its own player and set the Monarchs up for a touchdown run from two yards out. Hampton had not had a punt blocked since 2004.
In addition to the Hampton game, Mayo also had a blocked field goal during the first quarter vs Gardner-Webb to preserve ODU's 7-0 lead against the Runnin' Bulldogs. Alex Arain (Va. Beach, Va.) blocked a punt, ODU's first blocked punt in history, at Monmouth during week four. Chris Burnette (Randallstown, Md.) has two blocked PATs and Edmon McClam (Cowart, S.C.) holds an FCS record with five blocked PATs from last season.
ITS OFFICIAL:
You'll notice a change on the two-deep this weekend as Rashad Manley is inserted as the No. 2 quarterback for the Monarchs. Dominique Blackman (Los Angeles, Calif.) will officially redshirt the 2010 season. Blackman, a sophomore out of Los Angeles Harbor College, dressed on the sidelines for the first eight games in case of injury to staring QB Thomas DeMarco (Palm Desert, Calif.).
MILESTONE ALERT:
Running back Mario Crawford, who enters Saturday's contest with 971 yards on 196 carries, needs just 29 more yards to become the second Monarch to accumulate 1,000 yards rushing in a career..
PASSING LAST YEAR'S NUMBERS:
With 122 passing yards against the Pirates last weekend, Thomas DeMarco (Palm Desert, Calif.) surpassed last year's total of 1921 yards. To date, the redshirt junior quarterback has total 2002 yards in the air.
CHANGE OF POSSESSION:
Donald Smith's (Chesapeake, Va.) interception in the second quarter against Hampton was only the third for the Monarchs this season and the first since Michael Williams' (Va. Beach, Va.) in the September 17th contest with William & Mary. Devon Simmons (Newport News, Va.) later added the fourth Monarch INT late in the game. His 37-yard return was the second longest in the Monarch record books.
Deron Jasper (Dunwoody, Va.) has the other ODU interception on the year from the Monarchs' season opener with now nationally-ranked Jacksonville.
WE'RE STILL NUMBER ONE HERE:
The Monarchs enter Saturday's game as the number one team in the nation in kickoff return for the second straight week. ODU is averaging 26.15 yards per return. Rookie Colby Goodwyn (Hampton, Va.) ranks seventh among all FCS kickoff returners averaging 29.83 yards per return. Last week against Hampton, Goodwyn had a pair of returns to total 48 return yards.
PUNTING STATS:
Monarch punter Jonathan Plisco (Newport News, Va.) dropped to No. 2 in the national rankings this week averaging 44.94 yards per punt through the Monarchs' eight games. Idaho State's David Harrington currently leads the nation in the category at 45.10 yards per punt. Against Hampton last weekend, Plisco totaled 263 yards on six punts averaging 43.8 yards per punt with a long of 64. On the season, Plisco has totaled 1573 yards on 35 punts with 14 of them reaching a distance of 50 yards or more.
NUMBERS GAME:
With his lone touchdown pass, a nine-yard completion to Prentice Gill (Los Angeles, Calif.), quarterback Thomas DeMarco (Palm Desert, Calif.) brought his career touchdown pass number to 38. He also ran in a pair of score to up his career rushing touchdown mark to 23. He is currently ranked ninth in the nation in total offense at 287.25 yards a game.
