Two Golfers To Join Monarchs

NORFOLK, VA--Old Dominion University men's golf coach Murray Rudisill announced the signing of two golfers to letters of intent. The New England Junior Champion Jamison Randall (Cumberland, RI.) will join ODU for the 2011-12 season and Garth McGee (Belfast, Northern Ireland) is transferring from East Tennessee sate and will join the Monarchs next semester for the Spring 2011 season.

McGee was the youngest member of the Irish men's team, and a member of the Irish Boy's squad. He Made it to the fifth round of the British Boys Amateur Championship. The son of Michael and Jackie McGee, Garth graduated from Royal Belfast institute and plans to major in business finance at ODU.

"I chose Old Dominion because I think coach Rudisill can help me continue to improve my game. I love the ODU campus, the area, the practice facility and they have four players from Europe which made me feel right at home," said McGee. "ODU also plays an outstanding tournament schedule, and I am lookingforward to being a part of this program."

RUDISILL ON MCGEE-"Garth will be able to play immediately next semester and will be a huge addition to our young squad.He has international experience and has played one year of college golf already."

Jamison Randall is the New England, and Rhode Island junior's champion for 2010. He also played in the USGA juniors and was state runner-up at the 2010 Rhode Island State High School Championships.

Randall's low round has been 68 various times, but most recently during the Orange Bowl Sectional Qualifier at Cranston Country Club in Rhode Island.

The son of Greg and Michele Randall, Jamison plans to major in sports management with a minor in Business. "I know ODU women's golfer Samantha Morrell (last year's CAA Rookie of the Year who is also from Rhode Island), and I felt this was a great University for me," said Randall. "The golf facilities are outstanding and I was very impressed with coach Rudisill."
