PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Old Dominion sent out a sophomore and three freshmen onto the water this past weekend to compete in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy Regatta, held at Brown University.
Although the Monarchs finished 18th, the squad gained valuable experience. Boston College won the Hoyt Trophy, edging out Roger Williams by just three points.
Sophomore Dillon Paiva and freshman Brady Stagg finished 17th in the A-Division. The duo had three Top 10 finishes in eight races, including a seventh-place result in race six.
Freshmen Scott Hoffmann and Julia Wiesner sailed just six B-Division races as the wind would not cooperate on Sunday. The pair claimed 13th in each of the first two races.
ODU is back in action October 30-31 at the War Memorial held on the Hobart/William Smith campus and the Top 9 Invite which will be raced at Kings Point.
