RICHMOND, Va. (October 13, 2010) - Old Dominion sophomore golfer Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.) received CAA Women's Golfer of the Week honors after tying for third place at the East Carolina Lady Pirate Intercollegiate.
The sophomore carded 74-71-72--217 (+4) for the 54-hole event. She finished just five strokes back of the champion, Christine Shimel of Maryland who finished at 212. In three tournaments, Morrell has tied for second, third and seventh thus far. The Lady Pirate Intercollegiate was hosted by ECU at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.
Morrell was the CAA's Rookie of The Year last year. This is Morrell's secondhonor this year as she was named CAA Golfer of the Week back on Sept. 22nd.
