Fifth-Ranked Lady Monarch Sailors Claim Fifth At Navy Fall Women's Intersectional

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The No. 5 Old Dominion women's sailing team battled through a tough field at the Navy Fall Women's Intersectional Regatta that included 12 of the Top 15 teams in the country. The Lady Monarchs matched their national ranking by finishing fifth.

Old Dominion trailed only No. 2 Brown, No. 11 Hobart/William Smith, No. 3 Yale and No.1 Boston College in the final standings.

Morgan Wilson sailed the laser in the C-Division and finished second in the 17-team field, trailing only Yale's Emily Billing by one point. Wilson posted 11 top-five finishes in 16 races and tallied a pair of victories.

Stephanie Roble and Emily Reich also produced great results on the weekend, claiming third in the A-Division. The duo won three races and had 12 top-five results. Jordan Stock and Corina Radtke earned a 13th-place finish in the B-Division.

The ODU coed team also netted a solid result, claiming sixth at the Tom Curtis Regatta.Brady Stagg and Haley Garst led the Monarchs to fifth in the A-Division, while Alexa Cavalieri and Rachel Austin sailed to a sixth-place result in the B-Division.

Additionally, Old Dominion competed in two other events this past weekend, earning a 13th-place result at the Hobart/William Smith Intersectional and placing two sailors in the Top-12 at the Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Singlehanded Regatta.

The Lady Monarchs will be back in action October 16-17 at the Yale Women's Intersectional, while the coed team will compete in the Navy Fall Coed Intersectional.
