SUNSET BEACH, NC-- ODU sophomore Samantha Morrell (North Kingstown, RI.), the CAA Golfer of the Week carded a 74 in the first round of the Sea Trail Women's Intercollegiate and is in third place.
Freshman Kimberley Bradbury is tied for 21st with a 79, while freshman Gemma Fustershot 82 and is tied for 31st. Morrell shot 37 on the front and back, while Bradburyshot 38-41.
As a team, the Lady Monarchs are fifth with a 320, while host Elon leads the eventby two strokes over Appalachian State with a 299. Tara McFadden and Diana Davis ofElon are co-leaders in the first round.
