Monarchs Travel To Hofstra For Final CAA Series

NORFOLK, VA--The ODU Monarchs travel to Hempstead, NY to take on the Pride Of Hofstra in the final Colonial Athletic Association series of the season. Game time for Friday's opener is 3 p.m.

The Pride is led by Matt Prokopowicz (20-25-1/10-11) at .424 with 37 RBI, while Ethan Paquette has 14 homers with a team best 66 RBI. Prokopowicz ranks third in the CAA and 16th nationally in hitting.

The Monarchs are led by sophomore Chris Baker at .363 with eight homers and 47 RBI, followed by Senior Jake McAloose at .325 with eight homers and 30 RBI. Sophomore Kenny Stoneback is hitting .319. Baker currently has a 25-game hitting streak whichis a new ODU single season mark.

Donnie Corsner leads the Monarchs in runs scored with 38, followed by McAloose with 45. Chris BussLeads the team with 19 doubles with Baker at 18.

On the mound, Kyle Hald has a 2.80 ERA with eight wins along with 90 strikeouts in 93.1 innings ofWork. Hald shares the CAA lead in victories with Matt Davenport of William and Mary. He leads the league in strikeouts and complete games.
