NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs returnfor a five-game home stand beginning Tuesday when they host the Hawks of UMES at 3 p.m.
Chris Baker leads the Monarchs with a .339 bating average along with six homers and 38 RBI. Jake McAloose is hitting .317 with six homers and 25 RBI. Donnie Corsnerleads the team with 41 runs scored and is hitting .289 with a CAA leading 40 walks.Sophomore Kenny Stoneback is hitting .328.
On the mound, Kyle Hald is 7-4 with a 2.66 earned run average. He leads the CAAwith 83 strikeouts in 84.2 innings. Austin Wright has a 1.04 ERA.
UMES is led by Phil vaughan with a .339 batting average and a team best 31runs scored. Tre-von Johnson leads the team with 25 RBI, while Bryan Chaikowskyhas a team best 10 doubles.
ODU leads the series, 8-0. The two last played each other in 2007.
