NORFOLK,VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs host the Flames of Liberty Tuesday at 5 p.m. The NationaalStrength & Conditioning Association named JohnMalbon an All-American.
The Flames are 18-9 on the season. ODU defated Liberty earlier this year 5-3 inLyunchburg,
Curran redal leads Liberty in hitting with a 375 average and 20 RBI,whileNathan Thompson leads the team with four homers, followed by Tyler Bream witha team beast 30 RBI.
The Monarchs are led by Kenny Stoneback at .381, followed by Jake McAlooseat .322. McAloose is second on the team with four homers, while Nathan Hartmanleads with 29 RBI.
John Malbon Recognized as All-American Athlete.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently awarded ODU senior baseball player John Malbon (Virginia Beach, Va.)with its annual All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award - recognizing the student athletes dedication to strength training and conditioning.
This year, the NSCAA awarded 232 collegiate athletes form 106 schools with this esteemed award. Malbon was selected by the strength coach Yaw Baidoo, MS, CSCS, who said" John brings a blue collar mentality when he comes to the weight room. His leadership on the team makes everyone around him better, and each yar he steps up and pushes himself to his maximal potential to make our program better."
Robert Jursnick, NSCA's Executive Director adds, "The advantages of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied in collegiate atletics. these student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication."
