RICHMOND, Va. -- Sophomore Arni Arnason (Msfellsbaer, Iceland), junior Mikael Ramkvist (Bjarred, Sweden), and senior Kevin Latimer (Newport News, Va.) were named All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) on Wednesday as announced by the conference office. Arnason led the way with two all-conference honors in the 100 and 200 breast.
The 200 breast saw Arnason crowned the men's champion for the second straight year. Arnason swam his way to an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:59.32. In the 100 breast, he placed second in the event with a "B" cut time of 54.10. Arnason has picked up nine All-CAA honors in his career with the Monarchs.
Ramkvist won the 200 back as the Monarch won the event hitting the wall with a first place time of 1:48.60. It was Ramkvist's second All-CAA honor in the 200 back and brings his total to eight all-conference accolades during his career with Old Dominion.
Latimer was the runner-up in the 400 individual medley taking second place in a time of 3:57.59. Latimer not only posted his personal best time, but also the second fastest time in ODU history.
The Old Dominion men's swimming & diving team finished fourth at the 2010 CAA Championships and finished the season with a 7-1 mark.
