KIAWAH ISLAND, SC-- Senior Laura Holmes (Ballina Co, Mayo, Ireland) shot 82 and Freshman Samantha Morrell (Kingstown, RI.)shot 83 today in the final round of the Edwin Watts-Kiawah Island women's Golf Classic.
Holmes finished with a 54-hole final score of 242, while Morrell finished with a 239. Holmes finished tied at 117, Morrell finished at 97th.
As a team, the Lady Monarchs finished 30th after shooting 338 today. Their 54-holetotal was 996.
The University of Miami of Florida won the event by one stroke over Minnesota, whileNina Muehl (E.Tenn. State) and Crystal Reebes (Oral Roberts) tied for first at 213.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on March 11-12 at Citrus Springs, FL. for theEastern Kentucky El Diablo Tournament.
