Old Dominion Women's Sailing Remains No. 1 in Latest Poll

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University women's sailing team is ranked No. 1 in the latest sailingworld.com rankings, released on Wednesday. The Lady Monarchs garnered 233 total points, including 13 of the 16 first-place votes.

Old Dominion was followed by Boston College, which accumulated 209 points and two first-place votes. Brown claimed the final first-place vote and was ranked third in the poll with 198 points. Charleston and Yale rounded out the top-five.

In the most recent coed racing poll, ODU is ranked No. 19. Yale and Boston College rank first and second, respectively.

The women's squad is coming off a first-place finish at the Finger Lakes Intersectional Regatta. The Lady Monarchs edged out second place Dartmouth by three points in the 12-team field.

The A Division squad, consisting of Stephanie Roble, Ashley Pellerito and Ashley Brusso, finished the day in fourth. The team had nine top-5 finishes in 12 races, including a win in the 10th race. The B Division team of Katrina Williams and Emily Reich finished second with 35 points. The duo won three races and finished out of the top-5 in only one race.
