Monarchs Host Drexel In Home Finale Friday Night

NORFOLK, VA- The ODU Soccer Monarchs return to action Friday night when they hostthe Dragons of Drexel. Game time is 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.

Friday's game will be the final regular season home game for seniors Ambane Emmanuel (Yaounde, Cameroon), Bobby Foglesong (Fredericksburg, Va.), Nane Joseph(Yaounde, Cameroon), Adrian LeRoy (Ontario, Canada) and co-captain Jason Loizou(Virginia Beach, Va.).

ODU Freshman Yannick Smith leads the team with 11 total points on three goals and five assists. Shane Howard is next with 10 points on two goals and six assists. Nane Joseph and Steffen Rabben are next with nine points on four goals and one assist each, While Bobby Foglesong has nine points on three assists and three goals. Shane Howard leads The team with six assists. Evan Newton has a 0.83 goals against average.

The Monarchs lead the series, 6-1-2. The Dragons lone win over ODU was a 2-1 overtime decision In the 2002 CAA quarterfinals.

Drexel is led by senior midfielder Fabio Assumpcao leads Drexel with 17 points on seven goals and three assists.Mike Crosse is second with four goals. The Dragons have split time with three different keepers in Alex Reber, Tres Heffron and Tim Washam.

Has played in all 15 matches for the Monarchs this season. His two goals came against Temple and Longwood. Ambane earned third team All-CAA honors in2007. He scored game winning goals in theNCAA's against Providence and Brown. He is majoring in economics.

Bobby FoglesongSenior MidfielderFredericksburg ,VA.

Bobby has missed only one game the past three years. He currently is tied for third in team scoring with nine points on three assists and three goals. Scored his goals against Longwood, Temple and Towson. Scored the game winner last year against UNCW. Bobby is majoring in business/information technology.

Nane JosephSenior MidfielderYaounde, Cameroon

Second team All-CAA selection last year. Joseph scored two goals against Northeasternas a sophomore and junior. This season he is a perfect four-for- four in penalty kicks.He has two game winning goals against Furman and Penn State and an assist this season.He is majoring in Accounting.

Adrian LeRoySenior DefenderOttawa, Ontario

Assisted a on goal against Temple in the Stihl Classic. Has started 10 matches this season....Last year, he scored a goal against George Mason...Came to ODU from the University of Maine. Adrian is majoring in economics.

Jason LoizouSenior MidfielderVirginia Beach, Va.

Monarch co-captain has started every game the past two seasons. Has helped anchor the ODU defense. Played in 17 matches with four starts in 2007. Last season, he assisted on a goal against Bryant. Jason is majoring in business management.

With two matches left, the Monarchs are still in the hunt for one of the foursports in the CAA Tournament.
