Sunset Beach, NC.-- ODU freshman Samantha Morrell shot a first round one-under 71 and is tied for second, just one stroke back at the Elon-SeaTrail Intercollegiate. As a team, the Lady Monarchs are tied for sixth.
Morrell is tied with Western Carolina's Josefine Sundh. Katelyn Stanier of Samfordleads the event with a 70.
Laura Holmes shot 78, and Kristin Hagan 79 for ODU who is tied with Wofford forsixth at 309. Western Carolina leads the tournament by one stroke voer Samfordwith a 293.
The second round of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate will begin at 8:30 on Saturday, September 26.
