NORFOLK, VA--ODU Soccer freshman Shane Howard (Co. Carlow, Ireland) was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, and senior Bobby Foglesong (Fredericksburg, Va.) was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Howard, a forward recorded three assists and earned All-Tournament honors as Old Dominion (4-1) Captured the 34th annual Stihl Soccer Classic title. The freshman set up the game-winning goal in a1-0 victory over Niagara. He then had two more assists in the 4-0 win over Temple. Howard leads the team and the CAA with four assists this season.
Foglesong, a senior who anchors the Monarch midfielders was named Stihl Classic MVP. He scored His second goal of the season in the win against Temple.
The Monarchs host Penn State Friday night at 8 p.m., following the women's Radford Match which starts at 6 p.m.
