NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs host the Tribe of William and Mary in athree-game CAA series beginning Friday at 7 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.

ODU is 15-21 overall and 8-7 in the CAA, while William and Mary is 17-20 overall and 6-9 in the CAA.

There will be a student tailgate at 6:00 in the picnick area down the rightfield line. Students must have their student I.D.

The series, ODU leads the series,70-43, but the Tribe swept the Monarchs last year.

ABOUT ODU: ODU is led in hitting by Jake McAloose (.373), followed by Brett Harris(.330) and Donnie Corsner (.324). Josh Wright leads the Monarchs in Runs BattedIn with 37, followed by Corsner with 29 and McAloose with 27. Wright alsoleads the team with eight homers, including two grand slams.

On the pitching front Chris Boggs has a 2.63 ERA with a 4-0 record, followed byfreshman Ben Tomchick at 2.74 with a 3-3 record. Brett Harris leads the CAA withthree complete games.

The Tribe comes into the series after a dramatic come-from-behind win at VirginiaTech, 14-10. ODU defeated VMI, 6-2 Tuesday on a walk-off grand slam homer by Josh Wright, before losing at Richmond Wednesday, 12-7.

Tyler Stampone leads the Tribe with a .376 batting average, while Jeff Jones ishitting .369 with a team best 20 stolen bases. Rob Nickle leads the team with 44RBI and seven homers. Matt Davenport is 5-1 with a 5.11 ERA.

Monarch freshman Brett Harris was named CAA Rookie of the Week. Harris hit .524with two doubles, six runs scored and seven RBI. He also threw his league-leadingthird complete game of the season, defeating Hofstra, 13-5.
