Women's Lacrosse Hosts No. 10 Virginia Wednesday at 3:00 pm

NORFOLK, Va. -- The ODU women's lacrosse team (5-2) will host the tenth ranked Cavaliers from the University of Virginia (7-4) tomorrow, April 1 at 3:00 pm. Both teams are coming off tough one-goal losses as the Lady Monarchs fell in double overtime loss at Virginia Tech and Virginia fell in the final seconds of regulation against Duke. ODU will be facing its second consecutive ACC opponent in its final non-conference tilt of the season.

ODU has been led by senior Kelly Kimener, with 28 points on 20 goals and a team-high eight assists. Junior Ashley Kellogg has also impressed offensively, with a team-high 21 goals.

The game will be ODU's final non-conference game of the 2009 regular season, as the Lady Monarchs will hit the road for the Colonial Athletic Association opener this Friday, April 3 against Delaware at 3:00 pm. The team will stay on the road for a game at Towson on Sunday, April 5 at 1:00 pm.

The Cavaliers have been nationally ranked all season, led by senior All-American Ashley McCulloch. McCulloch has 47 points in 11 games this season, while teammate Blair Weymouth has 31 goals. Junior Brittany Kalkstein leads the conference and is fourth in the nation in draw controls, with 44 so far this season.

UVa is kicking off a four-game road swing with the matchup against ODU. They are 3-1 on the road this season.
