ST. MARY'S, Md. -- Sophomore skipper Stephanie Roble sailed to a first place finish in A division with Ashley Brusso and Jaci Finney to lead the Lady Monarchs in a fourth place finish at the St. Mary's Women's Intersectional this weekend. The A division boat finished with 35 points in the nine completed races for the win, while the B division boat, skippered by Morgan Wilson, finished eighth. ODU had 107 total points, just 11 back of the winning College of Charleston team.
Roble, Brusso and Finney sailed well in A division, never finishing out of the top ten in the 18 team regatta. The A division boat had one win and were in the top five in eight of the nine completed races. The Lady Monarchs finished three points ahead of the second place boat, with 35 total points.
In B division, Morgan Wilson sailed with Alissa Ayres and Rachel Pokorny to an eighth place finish, with 72 total points. Wilson added another win and had seven top ten finishes. ODU was just 14 points out of a top five finish int he division.
ODU finished with 107 points while Charleston won with 96.
