WINSTON-SALEM, NC--The Demon Deacons of Wake Forest University defeated the Old Dominion University Monarchs, 10-3 Saturday evening in the Wake Forest Baseball Invitational. Brad KledzikLed Wake Forest with ten strikeouts in six-plus innings of work. ODU defeated Marshall,9-5 earlier Saturday.
ODU was led by junior Cameron Scott (Culpepper, VA.) with two hits and junior Austin Wright (Virginia Beach, Va.) with two runs batted in.
Wright doubled to leftcenter to plate Donnie Corsner(Virginia Beach, Va.) and Cameron Scott in the seventh inning. Jake McAloose hit a solo homer, his second of the day in the eighth inning. Sophomore catcher Edgar Hernandez (Luquillo, PR.) also had two hits for ODU.
Evan Ocheltree led the Demon Deacon 12-hit attack with two hits, two RBI including a homerun.ODU concludes its tournament play with an 11 am game against Akron on Sunday.
