WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- ODU women's soccer (14-4-1/7-3-1) suffered its third CAA loss of the season to William & Mary (14-5-1/9-2-0) after a second half comeback for the Tribe to win the regular season championship. With help from a Northeastern overtime victory over Hofstra, ODU earns the four seed and will host the Pride on Tuesday in the CAA Quarterfinals at 7:00 pm. The teams battled to a scoreless draw earlier in the season in Norfolk. Senior Shavon Knight posted two assists on goals by freshman Victoria Johnson and senior Elizabeth Brewster.

ODU put away the first score of the game, for just the second time since 2000 against the Tribe, with a goal in the 24th minute. Freshman Victoria Johnson received a pass from senior Shavon Knight and slipped it by the Tribe keeper, who came out to try and intercept.

It was the only scoring in the first, but William & Mary would come out firing in the second half, tying the game just 1:31 into the second half. Senior Claire Zimmeck scored her 11th goal of the season off assists from Stephanie Gerow and Brittany Lane.

ODU would again take the lead less than ten minutes later. Senior Janna Pearson took a corner kick in the 55th minute that was put right in front of the goalmouth. William & Mary's keeper, Meghan Walker, missed her attempt to grab the ball and the scrum in front of the net resulted in Knight tapping the ball to Elizabeth Brewster, who knocked it home for the score.

The assist was Knight's ninth of the season, giving her the second most in school history for a single season. The goal gave Brewster four on the season and 11 points this season. She becomes the fifth double-digit scorer for the Lady Monarchs, the first time ODU has ever boasted so many in a single season.

William & Mary, though, would score two unanswered goals within 2:15 of eachother to take the lead for good. Zimmeck factored into both scores, with an assist on the equalizer and then scoring the gamewinner minutes later.

ODU keeper Lauren Tupman made six saves in the game, facing nine shots on-goal. Offensively, ODU was led by Johnson and junior Jodi Knorowski, with two shots apiece and one on-net.

The Lady Monarchs head back to the CAA Tournament for the fourth time in five years. ODU won the championship two seasons ago as the four seed, defeating Northeastern 2-1 in the quarterfinals, tying William & Mary and advancing on Pk's to beat James Madison 3-2 in overtime in the CAA Championship game.
