ITHACA, N.Y. -- ODU junior sailor Kyle Rogachenko leads the men's fleet at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship after the first day and Stephanie Roble leads the way for the pair of Lady Monarchs standing in fifth place headed into day two. Rogachenko posted 16 points on the first day with a win in the final race of the day to take the lead.
In five completed races, Rogachenko never finished outside of the top five boats taking one win and two thirds on the first day. He is just two points ahead of the second boat, sailed by Rob Crane.
On the women's side, sophomore Stephanie Roble is in fifth after five races, with 32 total points. She grabbed one third and a fourth place finish while maintaining pace with the boats ahead of her. She is just 13 points back of the second place boat sailed by Krysta Rohde.
Sophomore Morgan Wilson is in 12th after the first day, with 55 points. She had two top ten finishes and will look to make a move up the board on Saturday and Sunday.
Sailing will continue on Saturday starting at 9:00 am.
