ST. MARY'S, Md. -- The #15 ODU sailing team finished in third place at the St. Mary's College Open this weekend. The host team won the regatta with 55 points after the eight complete races, Georgetown finished 2nd with 58 and ODU followed with 88 total. Freshmen Drew Hall and Kyle Hanson took third place in B division with 35 points to lead the way for the Monarchs.
Hall and Hanson combined for seven top six finishes in the eight races, including six in the top five. The pair finished with 35 total points, behind St. Mary's with 22 and Navy with 28.
In A division, Alan Alkins and Arielle Darrow sailed to sixth place. The ODU sailors finished with 53 points with four top five finishes. They, too, finished with seven top ten races.
