ABOUT OLD DOMINION: Old Dominion enters the weekend on a two-game skid with losses at #5 North Carolina (3-1) and #9 Duke (1-0), after winning the opening game at the new Powhatan Sports Complex against Richmond University 3-1. Senior Katelyn Smither and junior Katie Ueberroth are tie with two goals and four points on the year to lead the Lady Monarchs. Senior Kelly Driscoll leads the CAA with 58 saves on the year along with a .763 save percentage.

LAST MEETING WITH BOSTON UNIVERSITY: The last time ODU and Boston University played, it resulted in a 4-1 win for the home standing Lady Monarchs. Lotte Bant scored her first career goal to beginning the scoring for ODU ten minutes into the game. Seven minutes later midfielder Melissa Leonetti put ODU up 2-0 with a pass from Melanie de Jager. The Terriers got on the board 55 seconds into the second half with a goal from Casey Holman. The Lady Monarchs also got unassisted goals from Angie Loy and Crystal Carper in half number two. The Lady Monarchs defense was near perfect by allowing only one shot on goal the entire game, including a shutout in the first half.

ALL-TIME VS. BOSTON UNIVERSITY:Old Dominion holds a perfect 10-0 mark against Boston University. The last meeting was 2001 in Norfolk where ODU won 4-1.

ABOUT NORTHEASTERN: The Huskies enter the weekend with a record of 5-2 and is in the midst of a four-game streak. Among Northeastern's win streak, the Huskies have garnered a 5-0 victory against Dartmouth, a 1-0 overtime win versus Quinnipiac, a 2-1 win over Boston University, and a 7-1 thrashing of Brown. Sophomores Meg Sweeney and Pam Aldridge and freshman Carolyn Malloy all lead the team with four goals and ten points on the year. Five of those points came from Sweeney with two goals and one assist against Brown. In addition, sophomore Anne-Rei Stuhlmann leads the Huskies with four assists on the season. Colleen Duffy leads the CAA in save percentages at .838 along with with 31 saves and just six goals allowed.

ALL-TIME VS. NORTHEASTERN: Old Dominion leads the series 16-2-1, including a 3-0 win in the semifinals of the CAA Tournament and a 1-0 regular season win in Norfolk.

LAST MEETING WITH NORTHEASTERN: The top-seeded Old Dominion field hockey team topped fourth-seeded Northeastern, 3-0, back on November 3rd in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) semifinals. Kathleen Shea scored the game-winning goal in the first half, while classmate Katie Ueberroth added in two insurance goals in the second half. Shea's goal came right before intermission at the 33rd minute of the game. On a penalty corner attempt, striker Katelyn Smither passed the ball into the center of the circle. Shea got her stick on the ball flicking it up and over Northeastern keeper Liz Centofanti for her third game-winner of the season.Ueberroth scored back-to-back goals within a span of seven minutes midway through the second half with CAA Rookie of the Year Loran Hatch assisting on both. Ueberroth's first goal at the 52nd minute of play came as Hatch passed the ball in from the left side of the cage for a tip in a the right post. Ueberroth's second tally came off a rebound on a penalty corner shot by Smither. Old Dominion outshot the Huskies 13-8 and held a slight edge in penalty corners, 6-5.

IN THE POLLS: Old Dominion enters the weekend unranked in the NFHCA Top 20 Poll this week, but is receiving votes. Eight Lady Monarchs are currently ranked in the poll's Top 20 with five more opponents receiving votes. Six members of this week's Top 10 grace the ODU schedule including No. 2 Syracuse, No. 3 Maryland, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 7 James Madison, No. 8 Virginia, and No. 9 Duke.

NEARING THE HALF CENTURY MARK: Head coach Beth Anders enters this weekend's games with a 493-98-7 overall record, needing just seven victories to become the first Division I coach and second field hockey coach overall to reach the 500 win milestone.
