NORFOLK, Va. -- After just one and a half completed sets at the Riley Cup, the ODU sailing team holds two spots in the top five headed into the second day. The ODU Blue team is in second place after a third place effort in A division by Alan Alkins and Mike Komar. The ODU Silver team is also in the top five with 15 points after the first day, paced by a first place finish in B division by Zach Kelchner and Ashley Pellerito.
In A division, the ODU Blue team finished third after two races with a second and a fourth place finish. The Silver team boat, skippered by Thomas O'Bryan with crew Kaitlyn Paulsen, finished in seventh place after two completed races. The pair raced to a sixth and an eighth place effort.
In B division, the sailors were only able to complete one race. The ODU Silver team took the win, with the Blue team of Bryan Stout and Arielle Darrow finished fifth.
The sailors hit the water tomorrow to finish out the Riley Cup regatta.
